Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse (RN) to join our team at Oakwood Senior Living, an assisted living facility committed to providing high-quality, personalized care to elderly residents. The Nurse will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of our residents, working closely with physicians, families, and other healthcare providers to deliver holistic care tailored to each individual's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care:
Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treatments, and personal care as needed.
Monitor vital signs and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring each resident’s comfort and safety.
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with physicians, families, and the healthcare team. Conduct regular assessments and observations to monitor resident health status, report changes, and make appropriate interventions. Medication Management:
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration, side effects, and resident responses. Educate residents and families about medications and potential side effects.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed, accurate records of resident health status, treatments, and care provided.
Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Report any changes in a resident’s condition to physicians, family members, and facility management in a timely manner.
Resident & Family Support:
Provide emotional support to residents and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of aging and healthcare needs.
Educate family members on care plans and involve them in the care process.
Address concerns from residents and families promptly and professionally.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with the caregiving team, therapists, social workers, and other staff to provide comprehensive care.
Assist in training and mentoring nursing assistants and other support staff when necessary.
Participate in staff meetings, care conferences, and ongoing education/training opportunities.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all nursing practices comply with state regulations, safety standards, and facility policies.
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all residents.
Respond to medical emergencies quickly and appropriately, utilizing nursing protocols.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Experience:
Previous experience in an assisted living, long-term care, or healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of geriatric care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus. Contact
